Immediately after surgery they said everything went well, however my belly was on fire and I looked 12 months pregnant. My surgeon was going to send me home, and gratefully I insisted on staying one more day. My Urine was a brick red color, and I was told I had a right ruptured kidney, that I had probably had since I had been pregnant 2 years earlier. Right? I'm not going to feel that for two years. My doctor went on vacation, so on the third day of excrutiating pain, and being told to walk because it was gas, my surgeons partner told me I was over reacting because I was young. I was 25 and had given birth, so I knew pain. What is most painful is that I had objetive findings. My white blood count was very high, I had fever, ect... When my doctor returned he knew something was wrong and I was told they might not be able to save me. I was rushed for and exploratory laparotomy, where I was then told they fixed the problem. After that I went through what is called an ERCP, to long to explain, basically stent in bile duct. This worked for a couple of days, after which the bile filling my Jackson Pratt every half hour started to come out directly from my incision burning my skin. I also had the stent in my kidney as well. Back to the drawing board, stent in bile clogged with scar tissue, another ERCP, and continued stay in ICU because everything was failing. They didn't even remember to give me nutrition, so when I was going to be sent home, I was completely mal-nutritioned with no protien in my body. There is so much that happened it is hard to believe, except I feel lucky I survived. I had to return to hospital several times to suck rocks off of my liver. I know this is a long comment, but a wound was opened and it just had to say it. I pray for anyone who has to experience anything like this. I did see a couple of lawyers who said Hey, your alive, and have no permanent damage, so move on with your life. Thing is my health has never been the same, not ever. Right now the lining of my stomach is very thin. I know the education doctors received for this surgery because for a while I worked at a company that sold the Lap equipment. The salesmen were not MDs and the surgeons practiced on foam dummies or pig over a 2 day serminar. I know it is too late for me, but if someone else has gone through this, pursue with as many lawyers as you need, because I didn't get so much as an apology, just a large medical bill. Endocrinology - Minor Surgery including Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography An attorney won $200,000 in New York, for a 26 year old woman who was left wtith nerve damage after having wisdom teeth extracted. This left the woman with no taste and numbness on the side of the tongue. 17 I was given a contracted cost estimate and I signed the estimate which stated I will not be charged more than what is on the plan that I decided upon. I don't understand how people are stating they are getting bills for more than their plan stated since you sign a guaranteed price contract when booking the appt. Plus, if you aren't satisfied with your dentures, you are guaranteed your money back for the cost of the dentures. Maybe people are going with the cheapest ones, which I've read you get what you pay for with dentures. But anesthesia can be dangerous. In fact, the dangers of anesthesia are so well known that medical professionals must complete rigorous four-year residency programs to become anesthesiologists, specially educated administers of anesthesia. Lawyers Laurel MD Ohio Society of Healthcare Risk Managers - Columbus, OH, September 18, 2012 The other event that begins the countdown or statute of limitations to run on a legal malpractice lawsuit is when the attorney-client relationship ends. Often, the end of an attorney-client relationship is easy to determine because attorneys will send a letter to the client indicating that their relationship has ended. In any case, for an attorney-client relationship to end, either the attorney or the client typically must do something that shows they behaved in a way that goes against how an attorney and a client usually behave towards one another. For example, a client might meet with another attorney on the same matter. 7 DAYS A WEEK, 24 HOURS A DAY 08000 488777 Call Us for free claim consultation $6,300,000 Settlement - Our client was walking to a movie when he stepped into an uncovered valve box in a parking lot, fell and fractured his elbow. He was sent right to a hospital and promptly seen by the orthopedic surgeon who decided to operate a few days later (to accommodate the doctor's own schedule). Due to well-known complication of this injury, compartment syndrome, our client felt intense pain and loss of feeling in his hand. Sadly, his repeated complaints of severe pain were ignored by the physicians and nurses for many hours. His condition was neglected for so long that the delay caused necrosis (death of tissue) that destroyed many muscles and nerves in his arm.
